How to plan and optimize routes

Upload your orders, schedule them, and let Routific optimize your routes

Once you've added your orders to Routific, it's time to plan and optimize your routes.

Click Plan Routes at the top right-hand corner, or Schedule All at the bottom of the order list.

You'll get a chance to confirm all your orders. Scroll through and confirm all the details are correct.

What if you need to correct something? We'll highlight problem addresses so you can fix them:

Click on Review – Routific will show a few options it has found. Just click on the correct one, and then Confirm Location.

Once you're sure everything looks right, click Continue Scheduling.

The next screen shows all your orders on the left, and an options pane on the right.

At the bottom right, you can create or adjust your Route Templates.

At the top right, you can adjust a number of preferences:

  • Route balancing: Choose whether you want routes to be balanced between drivers based on time, the number of orders, or not at all.

  • Exclude toll roads and ferries: Turn these on if you want your routes to avoid tolls and ferries.

  • Default stop duration: Your average stop duration will vary a lot depending on your business. Are you just dropping off packages, for example, or delivering and installing equipment?

We start off with a default stop duration of 10 minutes. You can change this anytime. The more accurate your stop durations, the more accurate your route timing will be.

When everything looks good, click Schedule — and you're done!
